Dean Michael Lairmore to Step Down in June

Michael Lairmore has announced that he will step down as dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine in June, after nearly 10 years in office. He will take a sabbatical, then resume his career as a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology.

Veterinary Awards Include Royal Fellowship

The American Veterinary Medical Association recently presented its Companion Animal Veterinarian of the Year Award and Animal Welfare Award to faculty members of the School of Veterinary Medicine.

Also, the Royal Veterinary College of the United Kingdom recently awarded an honorary fellowship to UC Davis Dean Michael Lairmore.

The University of California, Davis, today announced plans to raise $115 million in philanthropic support to update and improve three critical areas of the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center: the Livestock and Field Service Center, the Equine Performance Center and the All-Species Imaging Center. This campaign, called “Leading the Way,” marks the first phase in a long-term plan to transform the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center.
